Bronze steam traps control high pressure steam generated by a steam system. The steam trap discharges condensate while controlling or “trapping” live steam from getting to the final destination. In effect a steam trap filters and controls the amount of condensate allowing for a more dry steam to reach its destination where it can work more effectively and economically.
Steam traps are considered a critical component of a steam system especially those used in Navy ships. It acts as a control of quality and efficient steam by releasing condensate and other incondensable gases for higher performance of the steam system.
